here's to 365 more!

Bubble Calendar via Josh Spear

I rarely make resolutions, but this year I'm making a list and keeping it in view for the next 365 days.

Here's a few:
Stop being afraid, just do it
More selfless service
Read more
Buy only what you need or absolutely love
Improve current relationships
Create new relationships
Be a better listener
Eat slower
Cook more
Love love love

And a hujangous THANK YOU for reading and caring.
See you in 2009, folks!

happy december 25th!

Whatever you celebrate have a HAPPY DECEMBER 25TH!

And no, that is not my backyard. Just some nicely decorated trees overlooking the Pacific Ocean on a gorgeous 80 degree day in December, no biggie.

playlist

I did a HUGE favor for my friend, so she has become my semi-slave on Sundays. Today she is driving me from Waikiki to the South Shore to get a bunch of stuff done for a cool little project launching in January. These are the musical selections for today's adventures.

A Gift

My boss gave me this bag we had in our store for Christmas. It was my second choice after this amazing rugged backpack that someone got to before she told me to pick something out. No matter, this bag has sorta fulfilled my need for a briefcase style bag.

My last exam is tomorrow and I can't wait to be freeeee!

Oh wait, nvm. I have to work all day, everyday except Sundays. So much for a break! According to my friend, "at least you'll be balling."

Fresh eclectic style. Nice alternative to all the black in the blogosphere. Plus, great tips on tailoring your jackets.

Have fun!

Come Again Another Day

This is from Thursday. The day the sky drenched Hawai'i in rain.

I'm all for watering plants naturally, but dude, you're freaking flooding the island!

The only good thing about it was that it cleaned my windows.

Cardigan, Volcom. T-shirt dress, James Perse. Necklace, my creation. Wellies, Ralph Lauren.

Friday Night

My friend/roomie, Sasha Dominy, made this entire outfit for a design competition that Blayne from Project Runway was judging. She didn't win, but I was so proud of her!

Scored this amazing fringe top ($25!) on eBay. It's comfy and super fun to wear. That night, I was either petting myself or swishing around.

To Warm You Up

The comments from my last two winter wear posts really made me appreciate the place I was born and raised in. Even though I talk about knubby knits and Fair Isle sweaters, I honestly prefer warm weather clothing. It's fuss-free and simple. Shorts, loose tee and sneakers. Pau!

Fairest of Them All

Raided Ralph Lauren's Fair Isle merchandise.

Don't know why I'm so into this winter-y stuff when it's freaking 80 degrees and up. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. But in this case it would be "the snow is always whiter on the other side." Har har.

Post Thanksgiving

My Un-Thanksgiving dinner: shrimp tempura, green salad, tofu poke (sooooo goooood), sweet potatoes, homemade green bean casserole, cranberries, gobo, cheesy potato thing.

Important to note is that there was an abundance of turkey, ham, gravy and stuffing - I just don't eat meat. lt's all good though, last year I was eating quesadillas and learning how to swear in Spanish.

Lately, the weather here has been ideal. Clear, sunny skies and lots of cool breezes. I really am thankful to get to live here, I save so much money on clothes because I only need one layer. You should see my skinny set of drawers and small closet!

How was your Thanksgiving and long weekend? Eat or do anything untraditional?
