Can You Feel It?

CHANGE

I swear I could feel it when I was walking to the post office today. Everything made me smile and I even found myself tearing up a little as India.Arie's song Wonderful started playing on my iPod.

I haven't felt this proud or happy to be living in the USA... ever. The last time I can remember the red, white and blue proudly displayed by the collective nation was post September 11. And we all know that was for a different reason.

This is what the country and the world needs. Change for the better, optimism and a leader that we believe in. I'll probably get a lot of crap for this, but with Bush I feel like his failures were partly (a very small part) because we didn't believe in him. If we don't trust someone and think he's always going to suck, how are they supposed to trust us and be our leader?

It's all those messages we send out into the universe coming right back to us.

"Yes We Can." Yes We Did. Now let's CHANGE the world.

"with Bush I feel like his failures were partly (a very small part) because we didn't believe in him" That is, BY FAR, the sweetest sort of thing I've heard in an election post. It really made me smile :)

I feel the same way - proud to be an American - even though I'm not in the US right now. I will be in 2 days though! =)

and YES New Hope is international, indeed!

I have never hated Bush. I have never truly believed all the mistakes that have happened during his terms in office were all his doing. He was definitely a scapegoat the past 8 years. Everyone always needs someone to blame. While he admittedly wasn't a good president -- belief in him would have probably done a world of good. I know it wouldn't have made things worse. That's for sure!

What you said about Bush is really insightful, I often felt bad for him, I mean people seemed to always be so negative towards him, it's hard enough to run a country with support, but even harder to do it and have so many people working against you not with you. ;)

And thanks for your great comment, and for the well wishes, my leg and hip and back feel a good bit better now! :)
