Such a horrible comparison, I know.

But when I think of lace up pants I think of Christina Aguilera. See, there's this Christina Aguilera music video seared into my memory because of the low white pants with the lace ups at the hip she wears in it. It was the first time I saw something like that and I seriously thought it was the coolest thing ever. So of course I bought pants and skirts that laced at the front or at the hips and even bought different colored suede strings to change out. I was so cool in high school... not.

So, the Black Issue is a hit seller and Gwenyth's US Vogue issue was a huge flop.
And advertiser's think black models aren't good for sales, but ad sales for the Black Issue went up.
Hhmm...

I promise I don't hate US Vogue or Anna, even if it looks like I do

While studying for my fashion history exam, I came across this picture from 1903 which looks very familiar to a fall 2008 look...

Hmm...

In the early 20th century, cars weren't enclosed and roads weren't perfect, so a lot of dirt and dust got kicked up in the air. This led to women wearing veils to protect their faces and long coats, called duster coats, to protect their pretty dresses.

Here's another similar example, circa 1910, that probably wasn't used for riding in cars.
